Thanksgiving Break

November 22nd, 2016 opan20

Hi Everyone!

This is my very first entry so I am super excited to get started. I hope all of you will enjoy following my Holy Cross journey over the coming months.

It has been a crazy few months here as a freshman, but I am finally getting into a steady groove, and can honestly say I already feel super comfortable here on campus.

However, I have recently left campus to head home for Thanksgiving break, which I have been looking forward to for months. In the days leading up to break, there was a palpable energy of excitement as countless students rushed to make their long-distance travel plans to go home, whereas others, such as myself, simply called up a parent or sibling for a quick ride home.

I have returned home to Marblehead, a small seaside village nestled amongst the Northern suburbs of Massachusetts, definitely a far cry from the hustle and bustle of Worcester, but nevertheless a great place to come home to.

I’ll be spending the holiday with my mom, dad, and grandfather. We usually kick off the round of holiday traditions by indulging in classic Thanksgiving films like Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, as well as A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, which in my opinion, you’re never too old for. My mom and I will also spend the two days preceding Thanksgiving cooking and baking in preparation for the best meal of the year.

Of course, aside from the holiday festivities, I will, at some point, be forced to examine the list of class assignments I have due upon returning to school. However, right now, all I have on my mind is turkey and pumpkin pie.

So, I hope everyone reading has a happy Thanksgiving as well, and I hope you all stay tuned for more posts from me about life on campus. For now, I plan to enjoy being home with the family, but I rest assured knowing that I have a great place to go back to in a week!
